Landschaften aquarelliere ich im Freien. Hier verwende ich - nach leichter Vorzeichnung mit Aquarellstiften - Aquarellfarben aus der Tube. Ich brauche beim Malen die Natur um mich herum, den (manchmal sogar recht heftigen) Wind, die Vogelstimmen, den Geruch der Erde, der Bäume, der Wiesen, der Felsen, des Meeres. Ich denke, dass diese Eindrücke unbewußt in den Malprozess einfließen: in die Wahl der Farben (oder deren absichtlichem Weglassen an bestimmten Stellen des Bildes) und in die Pinselführung.

I draw landscapes outdoors with water colours. Here I use - after a quick pre-drawing with water colour pens - water colour in tubes. For painting, I need the (sometimes even wild) wind , the birds`songs, the scent of the ground, trees, meadows, rocks and the ocean. I believe that these impressions subconsciously influence the painting process: in its selection of colours (or the conscious omission of them at certain parts of the picture) and in the way the brush is drawn.
