Pixel-Divertimento # 9624

Für mich neu "entdeckt" habe ich den Computer als Malwerkzeug. Als Vorlage verwende ich eigene Bilder oder Ausschnitte von diesen, die ich mit dem PC modifiziere. Es entstehen computer-generierte Varianten des ursprünglichen Bildes von oft überraschender Schönheit und Abstraktheit, die ich  Pixel-Divertimenti nenne. Man sage nicht dies sei keine Kunst. Diese entsteht doch nicht erst mit dem handwerklich perfekten Nachmalen dieser Vorlagen: das wäre Kunstfertigkeit, die auch ein Roboter haben könnte. Der schöpferische Anteil dieser Kunst liegt in der kreativen Idee und in der Auswahl von Vorlage und Computerbild nach künstlerischen Kriterien.

I discovered "anew" the computer as a painting tool. My templates are pictures I created myself, or cut-outs of these, which I edit with the aid of the PC. Computer-generated versions of the original picture are thus created, which are often of a surprising beauty and abstraction. I call them "pixel divertimenti". Don´t say this is not art!  Art doesn´t emerge from craftsman-like perfect copying of the templates. this would be a craftsmanship, a robot could manage. The creative part of this art lies in the creative idea and the right selection of templates and computer images, according to artistic criteria.
